many prisoners. Two wounded prisoners passed through our hands but were absolutley skinned for souvenirs before they even reached the Aid Post where we were & that was pretty close up to the front line. One was a stretcher bearer & the other a lad of about nineteen & neither had a button hat nor lapel anywhere - they were done up with safety pins & how glad they seemed to be in our hands. One of our chaps armed with a bomb only brought three over.
Of course we were all previously warned of the stunt & reinforcers sent up to the three posts. Precisely at the time stated the whole countryside seemed to blaze up & burst on the enemy.
