a great drawing room with big mirrors & red plush furniture & a beautiful piano. We used to get up & play the piano before breakfast as this was our only time notwtstg [notwithstanding]  that we never got to bed till about 1 & 2 in the morning.

The first afternoon I called on Mr  Hugh  Reeves who treated us to afternoon tea & gave us some valuable information about London. He was extremely busy & was very sorry he could not give us more time. He  wanted us to go to his place for tea but he was engaged every night. I would have liked to very much as he must have been
