Fritz is shelling the railway station.
Got a letter from Elsie Fisher this time. Also Auntie Jessie. It is ten o'clock now & I am still writing in the twilight will have to knock off.

There is a good deal of opinion as to the war ending shortly. Many chaps have prophecies but as far as I am concerned I can't form any opinion whatever except that it will be going for a very long time yet. The Americans coming in & Russia practically going out have upset all calculations. I shouldn't think anything would be done until America could co-operate with her full force.
I am glad the scarf turned up. I sent Jean one like that only pink & you some handkerchiefs but I do not hold out any hope for them reaching their destination. Yesterday I posted to you a table centre. It is a big beauty hand made lace. I think it is a bit too big for any table you
