here Fritz comes over on bombing excursions of a night. Two nights ago he bombed a hospital & killed one of our boys - a namesake of mine - who was working there temporarily & a number of patients.

We are still having perfect weather. Every night we sit out on the lawn in front of the huts & watch the fancy flying exhibition by our triplanes - they can do anything in the air. Jack & I have applied for ten day's leave to Paris & will be getting it soon I think. I am writing over to Mr R for 15 pounds each. It is very dear I believe to live there. I am 158th on the leave list for London so ought to get it before 1930.

We have all gone mad on badge collecting. I have got a German machine gun belt full of badges & would like to get it home. Jack has just been having a good look through his shirt especialy in the seams - this is a part of ones every day toilet. I have not been
