Dear Dad,
Have just finished five days in the line. We are attached to one of the other ambulances which is doing the forward area & joined them in a wood where they were camped. Who should be camped right next door to us under the same trees but Reg Hogan Cpl. He is just the same merry chap smiling all over his face, hasn't changed a bit. He has had a real good spin since landing in France. Was here a week & got trench feet. Spent a long time in England & came over again. Got up to the line & was sent down to the base as escort for a prisoner or witness or something in a court martial. He spent a couple of months there while the trial was coming on & has returned about three months ago. He has been in the line since then.
The day after I saw him we went into the line for few days & the day we came out his coy went
