punctuated irregularly by the low "boong" of a trench mortar bomb.. It is all wonderful. Here we are right in the centre of a town & the firing line not more than a mile away yet all we ever get in the way of missiles & a shell every now & again. Plenty of civilians are living here - business is carried on just as if the fighting were 100 miles away, one could hardly imagine that a huge war was in progress not a mile away.

We have two or three wounded cases per day through the M.D.S. [Main Dressing Station] & few of these are serious.
