Mark played the 2nd Rhapsodie in very brilliant style but I didn't like his interpretation.

After supper in the Strand we went home. Next day Sunday we taxied to St Pauls for morning service & then went to see Petticoat Lane - down Whitechapel in the East end slums - the place of the Jews. Consists of about four narrow dirty streets crowded with stalls of all the articles under the sun. Here all the poor population of the East end do their weekly business & buy their rations.

After dinner went to an organ recital  & orchestral concert at the  Albert Hall - the biggest hall in the world contianing the biggest organ. The hall is circular in shape with an arena in the centre, stairs all round sloping upwards & about 6 circles above that. Have  a look at the programme  I have forwarded,  it will explain all better than I can. This ended at 5 o'clock & at six we were at another in the Paladium [Palladium] Hall.
