Well about the Baths. This is the most popular institution of all & most sought after among the troops. Our particular one is situated on the bank of a canal & was one [once] a big dye works. Water is pumped into great big vats inside & into this the troops bathe 14 at a time; they get a complete change of underclothing & socks & this as often as they like to hand in old clothes. And how do they look forward to it after a week in the trenches. It was the first thing I looked for after being a fortnight without. My job at the Baths was hanging out clothes in the big drying rooms & gathering in dry ones - it was pretty warm work too. The washing is done by a staff of French women & the dry clothes sorted & sent if necessary to another batch of girls for mending. There are socks by the thousands here & you can bet we all got supplied with the best of all the underwear pretty soon  & kept ourselves pretty clean at the expense of the officers' baths. The work here is pretty solid - going from 8 am to 5 pm all the while & was
