Dear Mother,
Haven't heard from anyone in Australia for more than a month. The mails have been going to the bottom lately that is why - but I got the two parcels you sent me for my birthday. The cake was bosker & quite a number of chaps wish it many happy returns & three or four of us settled the other parcel at a meal. We had arranged a big feed in the town but had to put it off at the last minute as we got notice to shift so we had a good feed off the parcel.
I was assistant dispenser at the time & Jack & Roy were clerks with as little to do as I had & altogether we had a fine job & a little laying off room to ourselves. So we collected another chap & with the aid of a "primus" made "some" feed. We have had two shifts since then & are now in a lovely little spot & are likely to stay for some time I hope. No spot is perfect though - even
