we carried all day & eventually got the line clear & got a sleep the second night. Objectives easily gained & Fritz had stopped shelling where we were - advanced about two miles.

Nothing doing Fritz very quiet - Relieved at 11 am & reported back to HQrs. At once put into lorries & rushed out of the line back to our own billets we had left not a week before. Got several souvenirs. Ron Fraser & Jack Shiels wounded. Ron will probably get the M.C. He was observing officer in the front line for the artillery - went over with the boys & captured a Fritz officer & good information. We lost two killed & 8 wounded. One of the killed - Jarvis - was a fine popular chap & is a great loss.

Resting expect to move back into the line tomorrow for another hopover.
