practice but you must do it to get on.   You must tip everyone.   Taxi drivers will argue the point if you don't give them enough.   You go into a theatre - you must tip the chap who sells you a programme - tip the girl in charge of the cloak room  & tip the girl who showed you to your seat.   Jack  & I went into the Olympia  & left our coats in the cloak room - it cost us two francs to get them out again - another kid sold me a 1 program for a france  & it cost us another franc to be shown to our seats.   You only fall in like this about three times  & then you are educated.

We had our photos taken while in Paris - they ought to be ready soon.   I sent several parcels home - two containing souvenirs which I had been carrying round France for twelve months  & some presents one for you - a bag, one for Myra - a bag also - a little travelling clock for Jean  & a little snuff box or powder box or some other such mystery for Billo  & an aeroplane for Jack.   I hope they get home because I took the opportunity of getting something good there - everything is very dear though.   The bags are the latest Paris fashion.

William got back on the 6th inst. spending half a day at Boulogne on the way  & were only settled down two days when he had to pack up  & shift again.   We came a long way in lorries  & marched a good way eventually arriving
