Dear Mother,

Since last writing to Myra I have received Letter No 15, one from Myra & some papers. Fancy Marjorie Moore being guilty of writing poetry. Not too bad for  the first go off. I think I told you that Miss Crabbe had gone to France - Paris - also that I have received all parcels - cakes etc up to date but the Xmas parcel I think has gone down with the Arabia in the Mediterranean. Quite a lot of chaps had parcels coming by that mail so there will be a lot of disappointed [indecipherable]. Heard a great service in the Cathedral & then went to the "Old George" for dinner. We have been put back for a week & are not going till next Wednesday   22nd - probably on Tuesday night. We have all got rid of our surplus clothes & now only have what we carry on our backs. It is some load too - overcoat - blanket & waterproof sheet - change of clothing - sheeps skin vest (issued by the military) socks & many other little necessities - Rationbag which hangs from our belts &
