College but they won't be considered before October next & then it may not be for months after that that we will get a chance. The war will be over then.
We heard today that the latest mails to Australia & from have been sunk so I don't expect to hear from you for some time.
We sent a cable a week ago to the effect that we were well. I hope you red'd it - may have been sunk too. Bubbles is still in England & has fallen in love.
I was looking at a 15" howitzer in action the other day. The size and solidity of the shell are incredible. You can't realize what an enormous thing it is until you see the reality - 1400 lbs & ranged up to ten miles. Met Jack Cagle yesterday. He was wounded in the stunt & won a M.M. [Military Medal]. Hum's unit is taking over from us tomorrow.
Ron Frazer has been through the OTC [Officers Training Corps] & has a corner in the artillery. That is all up to date. The weather has been a bit damp lately. How is Jack? has he gone to school yet? Decorations were issued the
