appeared on parade & one of the officers was heard to remark that the boys were making it too hot & a roll call would have to be held of a Sunday. Of course they know we take french leave every week end - they do themselves but they don't seem to mind much - even the Colonel. However our section was on duty today Sunday & I had a job washing out beer glasses at the canteen & chucking out the drunks, if any. Yesterday I had three weeks' washing to do & filled in Saturday afternoon that way.
Lately we have been having some heavy work. Last week two field days & one 17 mile route march - this week we are having the same & next week I think we will have a five days' tour through the country; the best training in the world to make us fit.
That parcel your posted on the 4th ult. has not turned up yet but I don't expect it for at least a month as parcels take just twice as long as letters to come.
I am enclosing a few photos, just samples of the wonderful sights we are seeing - with more to follow on. We get them done in London. The two cigarette cards might have some attraction for Myra while the clipping from the paper.
