didn't push carts carried their acquired souvenirs on their bodies like Xmas trees. All kinds of things dangled from straps & ropes round their bodies. I carried a primus small china cup & a big saucepan strapped on somehow & a blanket & we took it in turns to carry a big grub sack. But to put the finishing touches on it all was the presence of an old delapidated skinny nanny goat which would persist in marching immediately in front of the officers despite their frantic efforts to shoo it off. The situation became critical when some voice from behind asked the officers "Who's your lady friend?" resulting in a lift for the poor goat by the aid of a foot-filled boot. At the other side of the wood we established an A.D.S. left a couple of squads there to run it & the remainder came back to ... where the Main Dressing Stn was. Many Aussies Tommies & French came through.

After resting for a couple of days here we did a day's shift at an R.A.P. in a big village. The R.A.P. was in the cellar of a fine chateau beautifully
