on the spot & about forty costumes were on the floor. We all did up in paints too. The room was decorated with branches bandages & anything of colour & the floor polished with candles & borax. Next door in the dispensary we had a buffet with coffee & sandwiches & beer for the bibbers. Ces Phelan again won the prize for best sustained character as a turk. But Frank won the best character original as a Scottish fisherman & looked fine. We had a great time but it went too quickly.
Nearly every day we have either a cricket or a football match & every night a dance until "lights out" & after. The last two Sundays I have been out horse riding & two days ago I went for a joy ride all day in a car from 6 am to 10.30. Had a great day all round the country & spent several hours in a big town. Went through the fine cathedral there & had some good feeds. At present I am orderly for one of the cars & Jack is in the orderly room so we both have good jobs just now.
Just lately I received two parcels dated 29/5/18 & 14/6/18 - many thanks. They didn't last long amongst our chaps. Eight of us have a fine big dugout built by the Fritz & every night Bill, Frank
