Dear Mother,
If you could see me now or better last night. There were about a dozen of us all sitting round a table in a nice room kept warm by a nice little French stove. We had had a nice dinner - thanks to our proprietress of the Farm on which we are staying - & were indulging in cigars "cafe noir" & scandal. We had invited Bill Frank & his mate to dinner this night - they are very good to us in the way of food & comforts - they work in the QM store. I was thinking at the time we were all sitting round talking - & remarked to Bill "If our mothers could see ous now".
Well I suppose you can guess where we are. "Out" - right out in the country once again back on the old farm. As usual we have been lucky & struck
