is hard to reconcile with the fact of its "monotonous" beauty  & regular layout.   The city is not even post revolutionary  as the guillotine was placed in the Place de la Concorde - perhaps the beauty spot of the city - before the gate entering into the gardens of the Louvre Palace.   The Louvre itself existed before the revolution for it was the palace of the French kings during that period, it was partly burned down  & since rebuilt.   I wouldn't try & describe the several beauty spots of Paris.   I have sent you pictures of nearly everything, they speak for themselves.   I will just enumerate them all in some kind of order.

Stand in the Place de la Concorde look one way up the "Champs Elysées" a broad promenade about 100 yards wide with avenues of trees up both sides  & carriages  & taxis running up and down to the Arc de Triomple at the top (the wonder of Paris gigantic monumnental magnificance).   Pass under the "Arc"  & the Boulevard passes into the Bois de Boulogue  - the lovliest park in the world perhaps.   With the
