I put in an application the other day for a job in an English Solicitors office for a couple of months. It may come off. In the meantime I am attending lectures on shorthand & bookkeeping & French besides running these weekly dances & helping on post office so I have my time pretty well filled in. Jack has been teaching french for some time past & been doing the clerking in connection with the education scheme. A couple of days ago he was made a sergeant & now moves in the upper circle. There is no 'oil' about going home. We are still in the same old village & it seems we will remain here until we leave ... France. It has not stopped raining yet for three weeks & this weather is very mild - nothing approaching snow yet.
That was rather funny about the notice from the military. I think I will put a little note on it & send it back. I sent home a photo of the football team & some official photos not long ago. I hope they get there. I am expecting some snaps over from Kodak too shortly & will be sending them home. I must go now. Remember me to everyone. Will write to Dad & Myra later.
Love to all
