our billets we had left not a week before. Got several souvenirs. Ron Fraser and Jack Shiels wounded. Ron will probably get the M.C. He was observing officer in the front line for the artillery - went over with the boys and captured a Fritz officer and good information., We lost two killed & 8 wounded. One of the killed - Jarvis - was a fine popular chap & is a great loss.

€‹Resting expect to move back into the line tomorrow for another hop over. Next Friday fortnight we are going to Paris. This is a hurried scribble. Very little time much to tell - all of a jumble - off tomorrow again.
Tell Jack I got his cards in the parcel and showed them to the soldiers. They liked them very much especially the funny ones. The strike must be funny. Just suit us dangling our legs over the backs of carts we are used to that. Received p.c. of Anzac Parade. It seems to be a bosker place. I know Bill Frank - he is with the unit.
Re flying - I have put in two applications but heard nothing further. I haven't a chance - anyhow will not try any more. Recd. letters from everyone lately but it is impossible to answer them until the stunts are over. Jack wishes to be remembered - Both well. Love to all from
Your loving son
