Paris

2/11/17

Dear Mother,

Just a few lines to let you know we are having the time of our lives in Paris. It is a wonderful city. For architectural beauty & monumental art it is hard to imagine it surpassable. London can't be compared with it. We are staying  with the loveliest lot of people one could wish to meet - in a flat in the best part of Paris - they are the very essence of kindness - what the French call "gentil". There is also an English V.A.D. girl here & another French nurse who show us round. - it is a home. You ought to see the table they keep - french cooking is all that it is said to be - the daintiest of dishes
