& Whakawerawera [Whakarewarewa] where the Maori village was & Wairoa geyser - he ought to rememeber it. Had a letter from Doris today. She is living in Edinburgh now & is longing to get back to Australia. She wants me to visit them if I ever get over there on leave but I don't think there is any chance for a long time yet & then the war will be over. The weather here is beautiful now - light right up to eight o'clock. If we only had a beach to go down to it wouldn't be too bad.
Well I must close now the mail goes out tomorrow. Remember me to Mr & Mrs D & the youngster. By the way did you say Mrs D sent me a parcel of socks some time ago. I didn't get them.
Love to all from Verner
PS. Jack wishes to be remembered to all at home.
