Dear Dad,
Have received two of your letters since last writing 22/8/18 & 16/10/18. Well things are all over now & the excitement died down. We are all wondering what will happen next & whether we will form part of the army occupation in Rhineland. If so it means a long march as the armies move up & in these winter months it might be something to look forward to .
The news about the armistice came through by telephone early on the morning of the 11th inst & the Froggies got it later by official telegram. There wasn't much excitement in our dead old village though the factory girls near by got a half day holiday & bit of bunting
