Next week end we are going to Bournemouth, one of England's seaside places on the south coast supposed to be better than Brighton. Quite a crowd clear out for the week end. This morning there were 17 vacant beds out of 30 in our hut. It is alright unless they have a roll call on Sunday morning which is very improbable & the officers close their eyes to a good deal. In fact the W.O. [Warrant Officer] sleeps in our hut & protects the whereabouts of the boys during the week end.
If you have any more of those cakes send them along we can eat plenty of good stuff which we can not buy here. London is a terrible place for good food & fruit is out of the question, we never see it.
There have been many Zepp raids lately over the east coast but as usual no damage was done. Have you heard about the latest Zepps, they are 700 feet long 80' beam & carry 5 tons of explosives & travel 65 miles per hour. We are all anxious to see some of them.
