Dear Mother
At last we have received the long awaited Aussie mail & it was some mail too. I got 17 letters including three from home & four from "headquarters". I also got a good dose of papers & a parcel from you dated 24/10/17. The last one before that was 23/8/17 so there are still a lot to come.
Rec'd a parcel from Glad Walshe & one from Mrs Maddocks from Melbourne so I am getting any amount of looking after. I suppose the Xmas parcels will turn up now in dribs & drabs - there are many to come to me still. Also rec'd the little souvenir of your afternoon tea at Farmer's. It reminded us of olden times & something to look forward to too. I have opened the parcel & it is goodo - yes you can drop in a little tobacco now & again. I don't smoke much you know & don't use too much tobacco but you can't get weed over here like the home stuff. I don't happen to know
