No as a matter of fact I did not buy a copy of Burns for my trip round Ayr. I knew most of his poems from memory. Yes Frascatis might sound a bit by the Galliface Ceylon but the latter pales with insiginificance before Frascatis & London. Don't pressure to compare the two. You have only just looked over the fence at the old world.
"The Oppressed English" hasn't turned up yet but I think it should be worth reading if it is in a class with "A student in [indecipherable]"
Now for a bit of history - last time I wrote home was from a village called Gamaches in France awaiting transportation to the base. We went a few days after in the usual French way - 30 to a cattle truck & because it had clean straw on the floor we were delighted with the comfort provided. Can you imagine then why I am so liable to get drunk on a bit of luxury. Well after putting in a week at Havre at the base - during which time we were deloused.
