Tuesday 6 March 1917
Up at 8. Up to the aerodrome after breakfast. Very cold & misty. Sent off to Wye to find out about the new bombing target machine. Went by car to Hither Green & caught the 11.24 to Wye. Had lunch in the mess there – for which they charged me! Learnt all about the bombing gadget. Caught the 3.46 to London, arriving at Charing Cross at 6. Had a wash at the Strand Palace & rang up Winkley. Taxi to the Junior Constitutional & met him & his father. All went to dinner at Princes & then Winkles & I went to see "Zig-Zag" at the Hippodrome. It was'nt a very good show. By tube to Victoria & had a cup of coffee. Caught the 11.40 to Waddon & walked home.
Winkley goes to Narborough (50 R.S.) tomorrow. Met Maurice of 25 squadron, who is now at Hounslow.
