Thursday 8 November 1917
Slept very late. A lovely home mail arrived. Did not go out before lunch. After lunch went shopping hard and bought Gloves, gramophone records, etc. Tea at Fullers in Regent St. Taxi to the hospital & saw Maurice. Then back to Porchester Terrace. All went off to dinner at the Florence – a very cheery party. Then to see "Dear Brutus" by J.M. Barrie. A most delightful play. Gerald du Maurier was splendid. Supper at the Regent Palace & then home by bus.
