Thursday 27 December 1917
Up at 8.30. After breakfast took up the "dud" Fighter which is now very nice. Had an excellent flight doing many loops & good rolls. Had to be president of a Stocktaking Board – an awful job. Kept me busy till lunch time & for an hour after. Had a talk to Colonel Carthew. Lecture by Gunnery Officer at 3 p.m. Two more new Fighters have come for my flight. Wrote letters after dinner.
