Up at 9 & to aerodrome. Went up in BE12A to test but it was missing so I landed after one circuit. Pettigrew stalled & crashed a BE12 but wasn't hurt. Started to snow heavily about 11.30. Went to Croydon with Brocklehurst & Pethy in the Minerva before lunch. Gave a lecture on "Artillery Co-operation" after lunch. Cleared up after tea. Went up in a BE12 to test it. Back to dinner. Wrote letters after. America is going to declare war on Germany!
