Sunday 18 March 1917
Up at 7 for early flying. Fine but rather windy. Weekes spun into a tree in the A/W. An extraordinary crash but he wasn't hurt. I was the only instructor on early flying. Relieved at 9.30. Went to the "Dell" & changed & had breakfast. Went to 10.30 Mass but as it was a long one I couldn't wait. Back to aerodrome at 11.15. Very busy till lunch time. Back again after lunch & stayed on till 6.30. Went up for ten minutes on BE12.
After dinner went for a spin in the Metalurgique with Pethybridge.
