Saturday 27 October 1917
Up at 7 for early flying. Smith smashed my Fighter by taxying into its tail. A very annoying morning. A soloist on a BE crashed after an unparralelled series of flat spins but was not hurt. Got three solos off on Fighters. A lovely fine day but very cold – frost in the morning early. Much flying all day. In afternoon took Villiers up & dropped a note at Barnsley – did 3 loops. Drove to dinner at the Rectory and took "Girlie". Yarned & danced. Yarned with Studley White till 12 & then to bed. Stayed the night at the Rectory.
