Wednesday 28 February 1917
Up at 8. After breakfast went up to the aerodrome. Fairly fine so had a busy day. I tested the BE2C for a quarter of an hour taking Sgt. Pardon for a trip. Also tried the BE2E at lunch time taking up A/M Kennedy for 15 minutes. Stayed at aerodrome till after 2 p.m. & then had lunch. Back to the Gave a lecture on Bombing during the morning. After lunch went back to the aerodrome. Took up a BE12A for 20 minutes. Mathias went up on a 2E and disappeared. I went up on the BE12A for 20 minutes looking for him but could'nt see anything of him. Stayed at aerodrome till 6.15 but he did'nt turn up. Down to dinner. He rang up about 9.30. He lost himself and landed at Addington. Got another topping home mail. Wrote letters till 1 a.m.
