Saturday 14 April 1917
Up at 7.30. A great rush to catch the 8.20 train. Engine broke down at Pluckley & we knocked a horse box across the main up line. Delayed over an hour. Got to Cannon St. about 11.30. Drove to Cox & Co. & then to Victoria. Had lunch at the Grosvenor & caught the 1.25 to Croydon. Very stormy so no flying. Parr rang up to say he was in town. Caught the 6.8 & met him at the Waldorf. Dinner at Simpsons & went to "Hanky Panky" after. Caught the 11.35 home.
