Thursday 4 October 1917
Up at 9. After breakfast drove to the aerodrome with Major Henderson. It was raining steadily. Left about 11.45 and flew mostly through rain to Rendcomb. A very rough journey that took just an hour. After lunch read a splendid home mail & wrote some letters. In the evening Segrave, Piper, the Doctor & I went to dinner with the Wickham Musgraves at Barnsley Park. Had a most cheery evening. Back to the aerodrome about 1 a.m.!
