Saturday 21 April 1917
Up at 5.45 for early flying. Went up in BE12. Clouds at 1500-800. Down to breakfast about 10. Back to aerodrome. A balloon landed near by after lunch. Went to London by the 5.30. Taxi to the Haymarket Theatre & took a box. Met Aunty, Mary, Cicely & Joe D'Apice at "Petit Riche" where we had dinner & met Mrs. Toohey at the theatre at 8.30. Saw "General Post". It is a splendid play. Madge Titheradge is wonderful in it. Caught the 11.35 train back. A most enjoyable evening. The first party I've had with Aunty & the girls in London for ages.
An Australian mail. Mother & Father & Eileen seem so much brighter.
