Thursday 7 June 1917
Up at 5.30 for early flying. Took Moir up in front seat of RE for dual. Was caught by clouds at 3000 & lost my bearings. Flew round for some time partly through rain & landed about 7.45 to find out where we were. We were at Evenley near Brackley in Northampton. Took off & flew back to Oxford. Went up several times during the day doing dual with Watkins & Moir & Brown. Did over 3 hours flying. Had a swim about 4. Stayed at aerodrome till 9. After dinner went over to aerodrome to see an Avro crashed by Beadle.
