Sunday 8 April 1917
Summer Time Started 2 a.m.
Up at 6.30 for early flying. To aerodrome at 7.25. Rode into Croydon to 9 Mass & Holy Communion. Back to breakfast at 10 & then back to aerodrome. Tested the new RE8 during morning. In afternoon a very strong wind blew up. Went up in BE2C to test it. Back to tea at 4. Started to taxi out the RE8 when the gale caught it & turned it on a wing tip. Stayed at aerodrome till about 7. Back to dinner & stayed in after.
