Eileen & Roger's son born.

Sunday 4 February 1917
Up at 9. Very misty cold day. Didn't fly all day. Walked over to the frozen field behind Gonnehem before lunch with Burrell, Burney and Fawsett. Waldron & the Brigade doctor came round after lunch to see me. The General is going to send me home to England for a rest. Thank God I can give Mother & Father some cheering news at last. Walked over to the hospital to see with McCoy to see Winkley before dinner.
I am on a bomb raid to Douai tomorrow. I do hope everything goes well for Mother & Father's sake. I got the lovliest letters about dear old Roger today from Mother & Eileen. They are simply wonderful!
