Sunday 1 July 1917
Up at 6.15 & to 7 Mass & Holy Communion with Cicely. Back to breakfast. Cicely had to be at Hospital all day. Aunty, Mary & I caught the 11 train to Maidenhead. Had lunch at Skindles & were much amused to watch the crowd. Took a punt after & went up towards Boulters Lock. Lazed by the river bank for a while & then back to Skindles to tea. Drove to the station with Aunty & Mary who caught the 6.4 back. I could'nt get a train till 8.29 so I walked back to Skindles. Met Campbell & his wife & had more tea with them & then went down the river with them. Caught the 8.29 to Oxford & got a cab to the aerodrome arriving about 11. A glorious moonlight night so I went for a walk along the river bank with Cole till 12.15.
