Thursday 24 May 1917
Very tired. Blowing a gale so slept in till 10. Went to London in the Met with McArdle about 12.30. Went to Cox & Co. Lunch at Princes & then to Cooling & Lawrence. Called on Mr. Gerard who was out. Bought some shirts etc. at Junior Army & Navy Stores. Went to Vandyk's about Roger's photo. Drove back to Croydon about 5. Weather had improved so there was some flying. At aerodrome till 9.15. Dinner with the C.O. & then back to bed.
A chap from Hounslow crashed on an FE2b which burst into flames but he was'nt much hurt.
