Thursday 25 January 1917
Up at 9. Another bright frosty day but very thick haze. Cable came Wire from Aunty Mary to say that poor Aunt Liz is dangerously ill. God grant that she may recover.
I went round to "Ada South" to arrange a special registration for this afternoon. Went up with Fawsett at 1.50 p.m. & managed to get a good registration done in spite of the haze – the only successful registration done today by the squadron. Landed at 3.20. De Conway crashed landing but no one was hurt. Went round to "Ada South" again for tea & discussed the registration with Major Lyon. Back to dinner. Bought skates.
