Roger & Eileen's Wedding Day

Friday 2 March 1917
Up at 8. After breakfast went up to the aerodrome. Kept pretty busy all the morning. Went up in the RE8 for my "first solo". Found it a very nice machine to handle – quite an agreable surprise. Only up about 15 minutes. No difficulty about landing it. Back to the "Dell" for lunch & then up to the aerodrome again. Pretty busy afternoon as I had to look after both B & C flights. Back to the "Dell" about 6. Wrote some letters after dinner. Telegram came from Aunty Mary to say that Bryan goes to France on the 6th. I am going to try & get leave to see him at Brighton.
