Sunday 22 July 1917
A holiday!
Up at 6. After some tyre troubles Sanders & I left in the Morgan about 9 & drove to London arriving at Porchester Terrace about 11.30. Went to 12 Mass at Farm Street & back to lunch. After lunch slept till tea time. Mrs. Toohey came round. She is very pleased over Eileen's engagement & wants me to be best man.
After dinner Sanders & I left about 9 & arrived back at camp about 12 after much trouble with the tail lamp. Called at the aerodrome & found a home mail for me. Great joy.
