Sunday 15 April 1917
Up at 8.30. Rather misty but cleared up quickly. Flew the RE8s & gave instruction on them. Took Hearn up in BE2C. After lunch did some more on RE8. Hedges crashed very badly on BE2C – flat spin – but got off unhurt. Jephson also crashed on the Mono Avro but wasn't hurt. A fog came over after tea & flying became hopeless at 6.30. Thompson was lost for some time but found the aerodrome eventually. The C.O. has come back with his wife.
Stayed in after dinner – very tired.
