Wednesday 21 November 1917
Up at 8.30. Very "dud" day – low clouds & high wind. Tomorrow being the holiday I was able to get off by the 10.36 from Brockenhurst. Lunch at Waterloo Station. Taxi to Cox's & then to get theatre seats. To Porchester Terrace & found Aunty & the girls in. Mary & I to tea at Fullers & then to the hospital to see old Maurice. Back to Porchester Terrace. Taxi to the "Florence" where we met Mrs. Vidal & Margaret & had dinner. Then to the Shaftsbury to see "Arlette", which we all enjoyed immensely. Supper at the Regent Palace & home by bus. A most cheery evening.
There has been a wonderful "push" between Arras & St. Quentin – the news is splendid.
