Up at 10. Taxi to Adastral House & reported. Got 10 days leave before being posted. Met Harris & Winkley. Walked round with Winkley to get a cup of cocoa in the Strand & then went to meet Harris at the Savoy. Walked to "Les Gobelins" & met Aunty, the girls, & Brendan & had lunch. Said good bye to Aunty & the girls who go to Brighton & then went to Mappin & Webbs to pay my account. Taxi to the bank & got some money. Bus to Holborn Viaduct to Alldays about the motor bike & Negretti & Zambia's about the glasses. Bus to Bond Street and got theatre tickets & then wandered in to Lady Drogheda's Aircraft exhibition. Met Brendan at the Regent Palace at six & had some tea & then walked to the Junior Constitutional [Club] & met Winkley, Harris & Foster. The five of us to dinner at Prince's & then to see "Vanity Fair" at the Palace. Not a bad show – the first I've seen since August. Supper at the Trocadero & then to hotel to bed.
