Sunday 4 November 1917
Up at 8.30. A rather decent day at last but I havn't my machines back. Curtis returned from Oxford before lunch but Lester Jones crashed getting off in the other machine & rather hurt himself at Oxford. After lunch a Maurice Farman went through the roof of No. 2 Hangar – always the same hangar! – the pilot was rather badly hurt. Segrave went away to Beaulieu. Dropped a note to the Wykeham-Musgraves before lunch. In the afternoon dropped a note to Mrs. Vidal. Very hazy in the evening. Went over to Vidals to dinner & had a very nice quiet evening. Back to bed about 11.
