Tuesday 27 March 1917
Up at 9. To aerodrome in morning. Nothing doing as there was a high wind & heavy clouds. Back to the "Dell" to lunch. Doctor Johnstone came to see me in the morning. Gave a lecture after lunch on the "Zone System". Went to aerodrome & came back to tea. Wind dropped about 5 & C.O. & I went back to the aerodrome. I went up in BE2C to test the weather which was too foggy for pupils. Didn't get back to the "Dell" till 6. Couldn't get a train before the 7.10. Missed dinner with Brendan. Arrived Victoria at 7.45 & bolted a cup of coffee & sandwich. Taxi to Daly's & met Cedric and two Australian girls at the "Maid of the Mountains" – an excellent show. Back by the 11.35.
