Sunday 21 January 1917
Up at 9. Another "dud" day & very cold. Walked out with Burrell, Garland, Burney & Fawsett in search of a flooded field I had seen from the air yesterday which was frozen. Found it. If the frost continues it will probably be good for skating. Wrote letters in the afternoon. Won 15 francs at poker after dinner.
